MIXING When the amplitude of the flow fluctuations in emerging the streams is very small the entropy
rise produced by mixing each flow may be calculated by means of the standard mixing relations or steady
flow. On the other hand when the amplitude of the flow fluctuations as large pressure waves can be expected
to play a role in the early phases of the energy exchange process. Very little is known about combined
pressure exchange mechanism indexing except for such theoretical information as what has been acquired
through one-dimensional treatment. The calculation of the entropy increments produced by mixing is still
largely a matter of conjecture. Pressure exchanges are believed to be accomplished for a considerably
short distance.The mixing and the propagation rate of transverse pressure waves is much faster than the
transverse transport rates which determine the extent of the mixing region generally. The heat transfer
of energy is taking place in successive steps and we have to assume the pressure exchange process to
be complete when mixing begans.
